The Opportunity

Based in our Perth Head Office, this newly created opportunity sits within our Design and Development team and plays a key role in the establishment and ongoing success of Built Living.

The role will support early-stage project development by testing sites, assembling layouts, and exploring housing outcomes using a structured design system. You will work across Revit and Rhino to set up projects quickly, test options, and iterate layouts, contributing to both project outcomes and the refinement of internal design tools. You will also support the development and refinement of a DFMA kit‑of‑parts (KoP) library, ensuring elements are consistent, reusable, and aligned with product-based design principles.

Key responsibilities include:

• Set up sites and building layouts in Revit
• Translate planning inputs and briefs into design schemes
• Test massing, unit mix, and layout options
• Support feasibility studies and early project definition
• Apply and adapt standard housing typologies across different sites
• Work within structured design rules and systems
• Use Rhino to support massing, layouts and spatial testing
• Contribute to improving tools, layouts, and system performance

What we are looking for

Your success here will be defined by the energy you bring to work every day. You’ll love what you do and have a “roll up your sleeves and get things done” approach. You won’t shy away from a challenge and will always own the problem, knowing you’ve got the full support of the team.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Background in architecture, urban design, or development
• Strong Revit skills (project setup + layouts) and Rhino. Inside. Revit
• Good understanding of planning, housing design, and density
• Rhino & Grasshopper or similar software (Dynamo etc)
• Experience with Revizto for wider collaboration with our Digital Engineering team
• Comfortable working in early-stage, iterative environments

What will set you apart:

• Experience in feasibility studies or site testing
• Exposure to DFMA, modular, or precast construction systems
• Interest in computational or parametric workflows
• Awareness of development drivers (yield, efficiency, mix)
