The Opportunity   

The role of Engineering and Automation Manager is to lead core factory engineering capability for AMF operations. The role focuses on factory equipment, automation, production engineering, commissioning and optimisation. This role would help establish the technical backbone of a scalable DfMA manufacturing environment. 

This role supports the AMF factory setup and DfMA delivery pathway, connecting product information, engineering, production data and manufacturing workflows. It should help ensure design and factory teams develop seamless transitions, standards and opportunities over the first 24 months of implementation. 

In this role, you will:   

• Lead manufacturing engineering strategy for the AMF factory environment. 

• Define automation strategy and practical implementation priorities for factory operations.  

• Coordinate factory equipment and systems requirements across production, engineering and digital workflows. 

• Lead production engineering inputs needed to make product designs manufacturable at scale. 

• Support commissioning and optimisation of equipment, factory processes and production systems. 

• Define manufacturing standards and quality expectations for repeatable production. 
• Work with design, factory, digitalisation and product platform teams to ensure engineering decisions support DfMA delivery. • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reliability, safety, quality and repeatability. 

What we are looking for   

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline. 

• Minimum10 years’ experience in commercial construction engineering working on DfMA projects modular construction projects. 

• Senior manufacturing engineering or automation leadership experience. 

• Factory setup, commissioning, equipment or production systems experience.  

• Strong understanding of manufacturing standards, quality and operational performance.  

• Ability to connect engineering decisions with production outcomes.  
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
