The Opportunity  

The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating the technical, administrative and operational interfaces required to move Built Living projects from coordinated design through manufacture, logistics and site installation.

Working under the direction of the Project Manager, the position will maintain project documentation, coordinate design information and approvals, monitor procurement and manufacturing readiness, track programme milestones, manage technical queries, and support the safe and quality-assured installation of prefabricated building components.

The role will operate as a central coordination point between Built Living’s project teams and the Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Neerabup. It will help ensure that approved design information is complete, constructible and suitable for manufacture, that factory requirements are aligned with the project programme, and that completed components arrive on site in the correct sequence and condition.

In this role, you will:  

• Coordinate project activities across design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and site installation.
• Maintain an integrated view of project deliverables, dependencies, approvals and key decision dates.
• Help establish repeatable coordination processes that can be applied across Built Living’s future DfMA projects.
• Coordinate design deliverables to support manufacturing, logistics and installation requirements into manufacturing-ready models, drawings and digital information.
• Monitor design information against agreed freeze dates and manufacturing release milestones, ensuring manufacturing-ready models, workshop drawings, machinery production data and commercial billing data.
• Facilitate coordination between architects, structural engineers, services engineers, specialist consultants, digital engineering teams and manufacturing personnel.
• Coordinate the release of approved and sufficiently developed information to the Advanced Manufacturing Facility.Maintain a manufacturing readiness tracker covering approved drawings, models, materials, embedded items, finishes, specifications and quality requirements.
• Assist with coordination of prototypes, samples, mock-ups and first-off inspections where required.
• Support alignment between contractual requirements, design specifications, approved technical information and factory quality documentation.
• Identify mismatches between design intent, manufacturing capability and project delivery requirements before production commences.
• Participate in manufacturing planning and readiness meetings.

What we are looking for  

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial construction engineering working on DfMA projects modular construction projects.
• Practical understanding of the relationship between design information, manufacturing requirements and site installation.
• Experience coordinating technical documentation, drawing reviews, RFIs, submittals, design changes and approval workflows.
• Experience in precast concrete, modular construction, prefabricated building systems or Modern Methods of Construction.
• Project coordination experience within construction, precast concrete, modular construction, offsite manufacturing, façade, structural systems or another DfMA-related environment.
