An opportunity, Built for you

The Chief of Staff is a senior strategic and operational role supporting the CEO, CFO, Head of Capital, Head of Development, Head of Construction and Head of Manufacturing of Built Living to drive execution of the business strategy, improve organisational rhythm, and ensure alignment across development, manufacturing, construction, capital, and corporate functions.

The role acts as a force‑multiplier for the CEO - translating strategy into action, coordinating priorities across the executive team, and overseeing delivery of critical initiatives including growth, capital partnerships, advanced manufacturing, and pipeline delivery.

This position combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and operational discipline, and is central to enabling Built Living to scale nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Execution and Business Planning

  • Own and drive execution of the Built Living business plan, ensuring strategic priorities are translated into clear initiatives, milestones, and accountabilities.
  • Coordinate annual and quarterly planning and reporting processes, KPI’s, and executive performance tracking.
  • Support the CEO in collating growth opportunities, partnerships, and new business initiatives.
  • Prepare high‑quality briefing papers, board materials, and investment submissions.

Executive and Organisational Alignment

  • Act as the central coordination point for the Built Living executive leadership team, ensuring clarity of roles, decision rights, and priorities.
  • Drive cadence of executive forums including PCGs, ELT meetings, strategy workshops, and investor updates.
  • Track and close actions arising from key meetings and decisions.
  • Identify and resolve cross‑functional friction or duplication across Development, Manufacturing, Construction, Capital, and Corporate teams.

Organisational Effectiveness and Governance

  • Work with People & Culture to evolve organisational design, leadership capability, and succession planning
  • Drive clarity and consistency in governance, delegations, reporting, and decision frameworks.
  • Support development of internal standards, operating rhythms, and performance dashboards.

Capabilities & Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in senior strategy, operations, consulting, investment, or executive support roles within property, construction, infrastructure, or industrial businesses.
  • Proven experience working closely with a CEO or executive team in a complex, fast‑growing organisation.
  • Strong commercial and financial literacy, including exposure to funding, transactions, or partnerships.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to produce Board‑level and investor‑grade materials.
  • Highly organised, decisive, and comfortable operating across ambiguity and competing priorities.

Desirable

  • Experience in development, construction, manufacturing, or DfMA‑related environments.
  • Exposure to large capital programs, PPPs, or joint ventures.
  • Background in management consulting, corporate strategy, or investment roles.
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
