An opportunity, Built for you
The Pre-cast Concrete Factory Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational, production, and quality aspects of a pre-cast concrete manufacturing facility. This leadership role ensures the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of pre-cast concrete products to meet client specifications. Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, the Factory Manager leads a multidisciplinary team, drives production strategies, and ensures compliance with legal, environmental, and industry standards. The role also covers strict compliance of raw materials and reinforcement with approved specifications, adherence to method statements, and implementation of robust training programs to strengthen workforce capability and safety awareness. In addition, the Factory Manager coordinates closely with both internal departments and external stakeholders to align factory capabilities with client demands, ensuring smooth communication, timely adjustments in production planning, and delivery of consistent results that meet project requirements.
Here's what a typical day might look like for you:
- Being accountable for planning, directing, and coordinating all manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production of pre-cast concrete products.
- Developing and implementing operational procedures to maximize productivity and quality, while supervising daily production to meet project timelines, technical drawings, and client specifications.
- Strict compliance with quality control processes and industry standards such as AS 3850 and AS 3600, addressing non-conformances with corrective actions.
- Leads and initiates know-how transferals, and encourage to develop staff across all levels, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Resource management includes effective allocation of raw materials, machinery, equipment, and labour, alongside oversight of inventory (especially aging of inventory) control, supplier coordination, and continuous supply of materials required for production.
- Budgeting and cost control responsibilities extend beyond operational expenses to include the preparation and management of factory budgets, monitoring of costs, and proactive identification of savings opportunities.
- Contributing to broader business case financial plans by preparing accurate forecasts, supporting investment decisions, and aligning financial outcomes with strategic objectives.
- Evaluating and refining manufacturing processes, reducing downtime, and driving innovation.
- Being the key liaison with sales and design teams, engineers, contractors, and clients, ensuring that products meet technical requirements of the factory and are delivered on schedule.
- Ensuring compliance with legal, environmental, and industry regulations, maintains accurate documentation, and delivers regular reports on production performance, financial results, safety, and workforce development to the Head of Manufacturing, with strategic recommendations for ongoing growth and competitiveness.

- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of pre-cast concrete manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry best practices. Familiarity with concrete mix design, curing, reinforcement, and finishing techniques.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with team members, management, clients, and suppliers.
- Organisation: Strong planning, organisational, and time-management abilities. Proficient in prioritising multiple tasks and managing competing deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in all aspects of factory operations.
