An opportunity, Built for you 

The Head of Design and Drafting (Modular Construction & DfMA Expertise) with a strong background in modular construction, precast systems, and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) methodologies to lead multidisciplinary design teams, coordinate with clients and production teams, and deliver innovative, cost-effective building solutions for large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects. 

Here’s what a typical day might look like for you: 

  • Lead the design development of modular and prefabricated building systems, ensuring alignment with DfMA principles.
  • Coordinate with the Build Living Technical Team.
  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of shop drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and construction teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Drive design optimization to reduce material waste, improve constructability, and accelerate project timelines.
  • Serve as the technical liaison for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

You won’t shy away from a challenge and will always own the problem, knowing you’ve got the full support of the team. Here are the essentials you’ll need for this role: 

  • 10+ years of experience in structural or architectural design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Deep understanding of DfMA, modular construction techniques, and precast concrete systems.
  • Proficiency in BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Idat, Tekla) and parametric modelling.
  • Strong project management and client-facing skills.
  • Background in civil or structural engineering preferred; licensure is a plus.
  • Experience working on mid-rise, high-rise, infrastructure, or industrial projects is advantageous.
