The Opportunity

As Contracts Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional commercial outcomes for Built’s WA projects. Acting as a key advisor to project leaders, you will champion compliance, optimise contractual agreements, and manage risk to ensure all obligations are fulfilled and rights are protected.

Here’s your chance to make an impact, with responsibilities including:

• Contract Management: Managing procurement processes, interpreting contracts, and drafting subcontract terms, while ensuring compliance with commercial governance.
• Financial Oversight: Implementing project cost controls, managing financial reporting, and providing insights into forecasts and audits.
• Mitigating Risk: Supporting risk allocation, protecting Built’s commercial interests, and ensuring subcontractor arrangements align with project goals.
• Relationship Management: Building strong connections with clients, subcontractors, and your team to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Strategic Thinking and Negotiation: Advising on procurement and negotiation strategies to resolve commercial issues and develop dispute resolution plans.

What we are looking for

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring the following skills, attributes, and qualifications to the table:

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in quantity surveying, engineering, construction management, construction law, or a related field.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in contract management within construction, spanning design & construct, construct-only contracts, and construction management projects. Proven experience in managing commercial teams and navigating complex contractual frameworks.
• Proficiency in numerical analysis and financial reporting.
• Strong commercial acumen and contract interpretation skills.
• Attention to detail with a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Skilled negotiator with experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
